Is your baby’s growth on track? All babies grow at a different rate, but it helps to know about your baby’s physical development compared to others their age. Use our Baby Growth Tool to find out more.
Different children grow at different rates. With our baby growth tool based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO), you can monitor your baby’s growing weight compared to other babies their age.
Some children grow faster than others and what is considered ‘normal’ includes a wide spectrum. A baby growth chart tracks your child’s weight as it progresses over time so you see how your child is developing, but your doctor will also be familiar with charting your newborn’s developmental progression.
Please keep in mind that every baby develops at their own pace. Your child may reach developmental milestones earlier or later than average. If you do have any concerns, please consult your doctor for proper advice.
This is usually done on a percentile scale that tracks your baby’s growth. If you feel the need, please raise any questions or concerns with your doctor.
It is perfectly normal to wonder about your baby’s growth, and compare it to other babies. This helpful growth tool tracks your child’s weight vs. age percentile as a way to track the changes compared to other children their age.
This tool compares your baby’s weight with other babies their age by using data from the World Health Organization (WHO) to measure the average weight by age.
To use the tool, simply enter your child’s gender, date-of-birth and weight. The average weight percentile is 50%, so any lower value means your child weighs less than the average baby their age. A value greater than 50% means a child’s weight is above his peers.
Click here if your doctor recommends combining breast & bottle feeding.
This tool is for reference purposes only. The result does not necessarily mean your child is overweight or underweight and it is not a substitute for having a health care provider monitor your child’s growth at regularly scheduled exams. At these visits, your health care provider will determine whether your child is following a healthy growth pattern over time.
